Chiron’s Temple: A Supportive Online Space for Weary Healers

Facilitated by Dr. Louisa Foster
First & Third Saturdays March 2022 – August 2022

The ancient myth of Chiron, the archetypal wounded healer, has a profound message for health and wellness professionals in this pandemic world. As providers in service to others, we must also compassionately tend to our own injuries. Using creativity, mindfulness, and psychodramatic principles, this supportive group offers powerful, time-tested action approaches to breakthrough emotional blocks, usher in greater self-awareness and self-compassion, and build vital co-creative connections.

Reclaim the energy, focus, grace, well-being, and healing power necessary to hold space for others even as you navigate your own challenges. The need for community — interacting with and supporting our fellow healers — is more urgent than ever before. Giving and receiving critical nurturing can be a transformative experience. Together, we’ll provide a safe container of comfort, support, and guidance to help you explore your identity as a healer along with your personal and professional realities and aspirations.

This group meets twelve times over six months (twice monthly) for two and a half hours each session to explore the rigorous and nuanced demands of being a mental health provider in this modern, global crisis. We will turn to our wisdom to help create structures and rituals to help us stay firmly grounded as we weather the storm.

Each session will include guided meditation and creative activity to deepen awareness and bring essential questions to life — together, we will share and witness each other as we learn and grow together.

Give yourself the gift of connection.

The Anxiety Support Group
Coming in 2022
The Anxiety Sucks Support group is an 8 week course that will provide participants with a space to find support through connection, education on the body/nervous system and, learn, create, and share strategies.

Anxiety is something we are all familiar with, which means there is a lot to learn from our collective experiences with it. Meditation is a very effective strategy for managing anxiety, but for some of us it can be very difficult to do. The Anxiety Sucks Support Group will offer a variety of strategies to help you explore what works for you.

We will learn the magic of Cognitive Behavioral therapy, better understand what exactly the stress cycle is, how it impacts our nervous system, and how to intentionally work through it. You will leave with a variety of tools to build an effective Anxiety management practice for your daily life.

Self-Compassion and
the Path of Sorrows

An Online Retreat on Kindness and Loss
Facilitated by Dr. Louisa Foster

Coming in 2022
As we slowly begin to emerge from the shadow of 2020, we find that the healing process is complex and woven, in part, around grief. How can we honor these sorrows with kindness and compassion? Our grief may be around a lost way of life, a diminished sense of safety, or the loss of being with those we love.

In this weekend retreat, we will learn to approach grieving, whatever its form, with acceptance, rather than regret or attachment to what no longer is, using gentle meditation, self-compassion practices, and personal journaling in a supportive community.

Together, we’ll learn about the stress response to loss, the limits of our cultural approach to grieving, and self-compassion practices to companion us through suffering. We’ll explore the Five Gates of Grief, and listen in stillness to our own Wisdom. We’ll identify the creative response that best suits our own process, and develop our own plan for healing.

(While this program may offer therapeutic benefit, it is not intended to substitute for therapy. Please consult with your own care provider regarding the appropriateness of this offering for you.)

Please don’t let cost be a barrier to your participation.  If you are truly in need, please contact us so that we can make arrangements to help accommodate your participation.
